PIELDS Engineering Eclipses Annual Sales of \100 Billion PIELDS Engineering achieved approximately \120 billion KRW of sales revenue in 2023 to go over \100 billion of annual sales revenue for the first time since its incorporation in 2006. Such a feat of the largest sales revenue accomplished by PIELDS Engineering was made possible due to increased project orders since 2021.In addition to existing petrochemicals and oil refining businesses, the company was able to grow throughout each industry it is involved with after expanding into various new industries, including secondary battery, special gas and hydrogen. By providing optimal services in engineering, purchase and construction to renowned EPC companies and end-users in Korea, PIELDS Engineering established itself as a ‘reliable company,’ which led to continuous growth while successfully executing a number of competitive projects. The latest achievement was largely empowered by robust partnership with clients, outstanding technical competence accumulated since its incorporation and relentless efforts contributed by its executives and employees. PIELDS Engineering enhanced its technical competence by recruiting over 90 executives and employees armed with extraordinary talents throughout the year of 2023, and it is also expected to continue elevating its sales revenue in 2024 after obtaining the orders worth over \100 billion KRW based on such talented workforce. The company strengthened its teamwork through the company’s fall sports event in October, 2023, and held a session to share the prospects and goals in 2024 with its executives and employees by making announcements concerning company-wide management in January, 2024. PIELDS Engineering has grown into a 'solid company armed with technical competence,' and is determined to invest best efforts to realize the 'creation of happiness for customers' based on its growth.

KARI Commercializes Hypersaline Wastewater Treatment Plants for Secondary Battery
EPC Partnership Agreement Executed with PIELDS Engineering Joint Procurement of Orders for Secondary Battery Companies/Preemptive Market Leader Expected ​KARI (Representative Director: KIM Pan-Chae), a company specialized in wastewater treatments, announced on the 2nd that it executed an agreement on joint procurement of projects and business cooperation with PIELDS Engineering, a plant EPC (engineering/procurement/construction) partner on the 22nd of the last month.   KARI holds an independently developed patented technology in Korea led by KIM Pan-Chae, a doctor of engineering, for proper treatments and recycling of hypersaline wastewater generated during production of precursors for cathode materials of secondary battery. Last year, the company succeeded substantiation of proper treatment for wastewater from 2 leading companies of secondary battery.   This technology is designed to convert hypersaline wastewater causing ecotoxicity into high value-added resources. KARI states that the technology is a novel eco-friendly technology realizing ‘recycling of wastewater into resources’ where the wastewater is recycled through separation and crystallization of wastewater through upgraded technology and final treated water can be reused for industrial or agricultural water.   While manufacturing facilities of precursors, a key element of secondary battery cathode materials, generate thousands of tons of wastewater on a daily basis, this is the one and only innovative technology capable of treating massive hypersaline wastewater.   PIELDS Engineering is a veteran company of EPC green new deal from basic designs of plants to supply of materials and constructions as it has already been engaging in designs and constructions of gigantic production companies of precursors for cathode materials of secondary battery.   These two companies are expected to preemptively and quickly occupy the market as they jointly try to procure orders and perform sales activities by targeting secondary batters manufacturers.   “We plan to pursue business venues of commercialized plants within the Saemangeum industrial complex together with PIELDS Engineering,” YANG Hee-Kyung, the President of KARI business, said. “In the future, we aim to contribute to the global secondary battery industry with our own technology by expanding this plant to Europe and the United States,” YANG added.

POSCO PLANTEC Signed Hydrogen Production Agreement with OTC and PIELDS Engineering
POSCO PLANTEC Signed Hydrogen Production Agreement with OTC and PIELDS Engineering  POSCO PLANTEC (President: KIM Bok-Tae) decided to work together with professional firms, OTC and PIELDS Engineering, for the purpose of technical exchanges concerning hydrogen production. POSCO PLANTEC on the 15th of this month executed a business collaboration agreement on technical exchanges for hydrogen production with these companies, including comparative analysis of autothermal reforming and steam methane reforming. Steam methane reforming method is a way to produce hydrogen through catalytic reactions with high-temperature (700℃ to 1,100℃)/high-pressure steam (3bar-25bar) from methane where the heat from combustion of natural gas ignites the reactions.This is quite a universal method; however, it causes a problem of generating carbon dioxide during combustion of natural gas in addition to excessive energy consumption for generation of high temperature.On the other hand, autothermal reforming method is a technology combined with steam methane reforming and partial oxidation methods where the heat required for steam methane reforming is self-supplied by exothermic reactions from partial oxidation method. With this method, it is easier to reduce the quantity of natural gas used and carbon dioxide generated and to capture carbon dioxide, and it also has merits with capability to reduce the area of land required for installation of equipment, compared to the steam.Especially, this hydrogen production method is better for companies equipped with existing oxygen production facilities. Based on this agreement, these three companies are to provide tailored solutions according to the needs of customers, including reduction of carbon generation and technology to save costs and necessary lands, by comparing and analyzing the weakness and strength of these production methods. To accomplish given tasks, OTC will engage in comparative analysis on hydrogen production methods, such as SMR and ATR, while PIELDS Engineering grafts its engineering capability accumulated from facility designs as well as production and construction designs of hydrogen production plants. Also, POSCO PLANTEC delivers its cooperation based on its know-hows and capability of comprehensively performing the projects, including construction of hydrogen production plant and hydrogen pipes, as evidenced at Pohang/Gwangyang Steelworks. These companies plan to make contributions to climate change responses and Carbon Net Zero through production of blue hydrogen grafted with carbon dioxide capture/storage technology. MIN Young-Wi, the head of POSCO PLANTEC New Business Center, said, “We aim to further upgrade hydrogen-related technology based on open innovation by fully cooperating with all specialized companies in the future and continue contributing to advancement of the hydrogen-reduced steel and hydrogen industries.”

A study on PIELDS Engineering’s Flare system optimal operation, published in the Korean Gas Society.
Based on past flare system related project experiences, PIEDS Engineering began to write a paper on flare system optimal operation research in August 2019.   During the past project, we diagnosed and solved the current facilities to minimize flame instability and flaring gas amount in the flare system in the factory. Based on this experience, we developed PIELDS Engineering's diagnosis and resolution technology (Vent analysis, Process, Review, etc.) as a thesis.    Most oil refineries and chemical plants have flare systems designed to mitigate pressure rises in process facilities in case of emergencies that require the release of large amounts of gas due to sudden process shutdowns such as power outages. However, the rise of the flame of the flare system causes civil complaints from residents around the factory due to visible pollution, and economic loss occurs in the company, which requires constant management. In this study, two items were diagnosed and analyzed in order to derive the optimal operation method of flare system. To detect the cause of the rise in flame height, the acoustic leak detector was used to check gas leaks in safety valves and pressure control valves. By confirming the leak at 4.3% of the safety valve and 10% of the pressure control valve, the cause of abnormal sparking was derived. The information presented in this study can be easily applied to any company that has a flare system, and is expected to prevent complaints and product loss.   Through this, Vent Analysis, a Flare System optimization technology, one of PIELDS Engineering's technologies, was recognized for its technology and will be applied to projects in the future to achieve customer satisfaction.

PIELDS Engineering publishes Quality management papers on The Korean Society for Quality Management
 PIELDS Engineering publishes research papers on The Korean Society for Quality Management PIELDS Engineering began a standardized case study on quality record management operations to improve engineering-related quality performance rates in October 2018. After grasping the management standards of PIELDS Engineering, which mainly focuses on the engineering service industry, the study started to establish the integrated management system of PIELDS Engineering, the establishment standards and operation methods of the record management standards, and to improve management performance. The individual management systems of PIELDS Engineering were integrated through a five-step integrated model development process (Realize, Analysis, Design, Development, Application), and a record management standard including document storage standards was established. In addition, we developed a search tool to provide employees with the ability to check the standard procedures, quality records list, and location of records stored in the current work stage, so that they can be efficiently applied in practice. PIELDS Engineering published a paper in The Korean Society for Quality Management in December 2019. PIELDS Engineering will have continued to research and improve management performance by pursuing continuous improvement such as improving the maturity of the integrated management system and pursuing business simplification through system advancement.* SITE : https://www.jksqm.org/journal/view.php?number=2148* FILE : PIELDS-Case Study on Standardization of Quality Record Management Operations

PIELDS Engineering obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 from Lloyd's Register and ISO 45001 from ICR
PIEDS Engineering obtained ISO 9001 and 14001 from Lloyd's Register on may 25.   PIELDS Engineering formed a departmental quality TFT team rebuild and improve the QHSE system. TFT team was formed to revise existing quality procedures and guidelines.   In November, 2018, the amendment procedure was applied to practice, and the hard-to-apply procedures were revised and have applied the QHSE system in practice. 21 internal auditors officially trained as internal auditors have conducted quality internal audits to check if that’s well applied to the practice.   To be officially certified for our quality management system and environmental management system, PIELDS received ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification from “Lloyd's Register”, the most experienced and influential management system certification in the world. PIELDS have received ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification from Lloyd's Register for second time among the Engineering companies under 200 employees.     In addition, in May 2019, PIELDS acquired ISO 45001 certification from ICR. PIELDS quickly shifted from existing OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001.   PIELDS Engineering employees will practice the quality policy, and strive to continuously improve, maintain and improve the effectiveness of the quality management system. In addition, all employees will fulfill social roles and responsibilities as a leading company through implementation of various procedures in accordance with HSE system and continuous improvement activities.

'land of fire', asphalt purging and liquefaction plant in Vietnam of Pields Engieering
New vitality in the "land of fire"   Van Tuong was one of the most fierce battlegrounds in the war. In 1965, the Ba Dinh Regiment, along with its troops and locals, smashed the "Stars of Light" campaign of the American Expeditionary Force, opening up the American strike period throughout the South. In later years, Van Tuong continued suffering from the war and culminated in the massacre in Binh Hoa (12.1966). After the liberation day, with the attention of the Party and State, the efforts of cadres, people in the province, this place formed the most dynamic economic zone in Central.         After the war ended, the eastern part of Binh Son was filled with bomb craters. People come back home to rebuild their life with difficulties, lack of enough surface. However, in the renovation period, the construction of Dung Quat Refinery and Petrochemical Plant has made this traumatic land become the economic power of the province. With essential infrastructure such as electricity, roads, schools and stations invested to serve the development and life of people, the lives of people here have changed a lot. Local children have jobs in their home country. "   In the "fire" area of Van Tuong, Dung Quat EZ was formed, opening the period of industrial development of the province. So far, Dung Quat EZ has attracted 258 investment projects, with over $ 11 billion, of which 43 FDI projects, with a total registered capital of $ 1.37 billion. The total number of employees in the area is over 33,600. In 2017, Dung Quat EZ will continue to be an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors, attracting 35 projects with total registered capital of US $ 3.12 billion, of which 7 FDI projects , with over $ 385 million.   Among these, there are many large-scale projects such as Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Complex and asphalt purging and liquefaction plant in Vietnam of Pields Engineering Group (Korea).   Overcoming the difficult times after the war, 43 years after the liberation, especially nearly 30 years after the re-establishment, Quang Ngai has achieved remarkable achievements in all areas. Together with Dung Quat Oil Refinery; Quang Ngai Industrial Park - Urban and Service Complex Project ... creating a breakthrough for the industry of the province. High economic growth for many consecutive years; The economic structure shifted in the right direction.   Up to now, the poverty rate of the whole province is about 11% and the mountainous area is 36%. The average income of Quang Ngai is 51.8 million VND / person / year. These achievements will be the driving force for Quang Ngai to develop faster and more sustainably in coming years.
