PIELDS ENGINEERING

PIELDS Engineering, Co., Ltd. completed the construction of a platform for equipment sharing virtual energy in a massive scale within the Banwol-Sihwa Smart Green Industrial Complex through the ‘Project on Development and Demonstration of Industrial Complex Energy Network Using Virtual Utility Plant (VUP)’ implemented together with the Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of Korea Industrial Complex Corporation. This project is an empirical research subject of smart green industrial complexes supported by the Korea Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP), which continued through November of 2025 since commenced in May, 2020.
Expected to Reduce CO₂ by 1,000 Ton Annually… To Share Energy with Over 30 Factories
This recently-completed platform is a system allowing real-time sharing/trading of surplus steam/compressed air generated from the industrial complex with other factories.
Currently, the system has been introduced to over 30 factories, including Sihwa National Industrial Complex and Geomdan General Industrial Complex, resulting in expectations to reduce the carbon dioxide (CO₂) emission by 1,000 tons on a yearly basis. Especially at the section of the distributed geothermal energy sources of the Sihwa National Industrial Complex, analysis showed that sharing of steam alone is capable of saving the energy by approximately 372.4TOE and reducing CO₂ emission by 772.2 tons annually.
With features of real-time monitoring of generation/consumption, forecasting of preservability and remote control integrated, the platform is able to identify the state of energy operation an maintain optimal operating conditions. PIELDS Engineering concurrently improved the operational stability and management efficiency by forecasting the possibility for malfunction, timing of maintenance and safety risks in advance through application of digital twin technology to major equipment.

Introduction of Demonstration Results at ENVEX 2025… Goal to Expand the Energy Innovation Platform
Previously, PIELDS Engineering participated in the ‘46th International Environment Industry Technology and Green Energy Exhibition (ENVEX 2025)’ held at the Seoul COEX together with the Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of Korea Industrial Complex Corporation and unveiled the comprehensive energy management network structure based on VUP and demonstration results from the business entities with large consumption of energy and the Galvanization Zone of the Banwol-Sihwa National Industrial Complex. At the exhibition site, the cases of energy innovation at industrial complexes, including energy conservation, reduction of greenhouse gas and job creation, garnered interests.
Based on the performances in demonstration at ENVEX 2025 and construction of the platform for Banwol-Sihwa Smart Green Industrial Complex, PIELDS Engineering plans to enhance its role as a company specialized in solutions for carbon neutrality and energy efficiency at industrial complexes through expanded application to other industrial complexes in the nation and exploration of possibility for exporting to overseas in the future.
